Bob Collins
Bob has been cruise ship lecturing since 2019 working in many regions of the world – Scandinavia, Iceland & Greenland, UK, Canary Islands, Caribbean & Transatlantic, Mediterranean, Suez Canal & Region, Indian Ocean, Alaska, West and East Coast USA.
His engineering and metallurgical qualifications led him to work at Devonport and Barrow, two of the major dockyards of England, starting a long passion for maritime history, ranging from the very early days of exploration, through the viking age and on through the age of discovery and the turbulent naval history of the Mediterranean to today.
He also brings a scientific focus to aspects of maritime history such as tides, lighthouses and how major canals such as the Panama and Suez canals changed the world of maritime trade.
